A really interesting outline of the views. I think that's one of the best parts of the American system, it's built around that idea. Each side tries to make the best argument for their conflicting visions.

My general view though is that the Chesterton's Fence idea is the best way to go about things. Don't eliminate something unless you know why it's there in the first place. If you know that it's no longer valuable to have the fence, then remove it. But until you know that, don't do it.
